Decorating with Pink, Pink Decor, Pink Kitchen

Pink is a great color.  It is so unusual and fresh.

I have used pink quite a bit, and I really like it.  I searched google images for hours just to find the few examples that I have shown here.  For some reason, pink rooms tend to be done overly pink.  People seem to always go monochromatic with it.

This photo was the best example that I could find to show a room that used pink on many items, without going overboard.  The wall color makes all the difference, so that there is something besides pink to look at.  Soft shades of pink which are my favorite look nice with many different colors.  In the dining room with the pink wall pictured above please notice that the table and chairs aren't pink, and the furniture is not ornate.  This designer managed to use pink in her own way, without relying on what we have all seen a thousand times before.

Pink is under-utilized in home decor because of negative connotations that stem from the way this beautiful color is most often used.  If you find a photo of an interior space where pink has been used creatively, please leave a comment with a link.
